Pakistani Actress Zhalay Sarhadi Gets Candid About Women’s Fertility Issues and Miscarriages

Date:

Renowned Pakistani actress Zhalay Sarhadi has opened up about her struggles with reproductive health and the social pressures faced by women in the country. In a recent appearance on a talk show hosted by Mathira, Sarhadi discussed her own experiences with miscarriages and the health issues that followed. She emphasized the importance of open discussions about women’s health in order to break generational and societal taboos that worsen sensitive situations and push women into the dark where they know the least about their health.

Sarhadi revealed that she had three “really bad” miscarriages that were not caused by negligence on her part. The actress shared that she is uncomfortable discussing her traumatic experience with everyone but decided to speak out to raise awareness about women’s fertility issues. She emphasized that women’s bodies serve a greater purpose beyond carrying lineage and that it is essential to seek professional medical help for reproductive health issues.

The Aks star also highlighted the social pressures that women face in Pakistani society from a young age, emphasizing that women are judged based on their skin color, features, and weight. Sarhadi revealed that she suffered from body dysmorphia and that society turns everything taboo, including seeking help for mental health issues. She emphasized the importance of seeking help from psychologists and psychiatrists, as mental health is just as important as physical health.

The candid discussion by Sarhadi about her own experiences is expected to help raise awareness about women’s reproductive health issues and encourage women to seek medical help without any hesitation. The actress, who has contributed immensely to the Pakistani entertainment industry with her performances in many popular drama serials, including Chalay Thay Sath, Yaar Na Bichray, Beqadar, Pinjra, Uraan, Aks, Madiha Maliha, Digest Writer, Rang Laaga, and Nazo, is appreciated for speaking out on sensitive issues and breaking the silence on taboo topics.
