Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, was honored with the prestigious ‘Women of Vision award in New York City. The event, which took place in Manhattan, gathered influential figures from various industries to recognize and celebrate the accomplishments of women making a significant impact on society. The duchess, 41, was awarded the Women of Vision Award by the Ms Foundation for her global activism to support and fight on behalf of women and girls.
The event recognized game-changing grantee partners and visionary leaders who are dedicated to the organization’s aim of promoting collective power and creating safe, just, and fair futures for women, girls, and gender-expansive people. Meghan walked the stage in a strapless $1,850 gold Johanna Ortiz midi dress with scalloped pattern embellishment, to the strains of Alicia Keys’ hit song Girl on Fire. Gloria Steinem, a prominent writer, and feminist activist presented Meghan with the award.
The Duchess spoke to the audience at the Ms Foundation for Women’s 50th-anniversary celebration held last night at the Ziegfeld Ballroom in Manhattan. She said: It’s just never too late to start. You have the right to decide for yourself. She added that the next generation of women, both young and old, who are going to pick this moment to join the movement and bring our vision of an equitable world into reality, can recognize those very things that you repeat in your daily acts of service, kindness, advocacy, grace, and fairness.
Furthermore, as Meghan accepted the award, she was accompanied by her husband, Prince Harry, and her mother, Doria Ragland, both showing unwavering support for her achievements. Prince Harry’s appearance at the event demonstrated his unwavering support for Meghan. Their couple solidarity represents their mutual commitment to pursuing positive social change. Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland, was also at the ceremony, emphasizing the close relationship between mother and daughter as well as the role Doria has had in Meghan’s life and career. Additionally, it was the couple’s first public appearance together since Harry went to the King’s coronation earlier this month on his own.
