During a meeting chaired by the minister, he highlighted that the attainment of essential national development and prosperity goals hinges on the active engagement of women, who constitute nearly half of Pakistan’s population.
Recognizing the crucial role of education and employment opportunities in promoting economic development, Minister Iqbal acknowledged the impressive achievements of Pakistani women across various fields. However, he stressed the need to further expand opportunities and provide increased encouragement to women.The current government has undertaken significant measures to facilitate the progress of women, with a particular focus on ensuring equal access to education and employment. Notably, the establishment of university campuses in remote areas aims to provide education to girls who previously had limited access. Moreover, the government has designed multiple programs in the fields of information technology and industry, aimed at empowering women.
Additionally, a noteworthy step has been the allocation of 50 percent of the loan fund specifically for women.Looking ahead, the forthcoming federal budget will include special provisions aimed at the development and economic empowerment of women.
