American Singer Summer Walker vowed to work harder, after losing all of her Billboard Music Awards nominations this year. She was nominated for Top R&B Artist and Top R&B Female Artist. Her Album “Still Over It” was also nominated for Top R&B Album. Unfortunately, Summer Walker didn’t earn a single award in Billboard Music Awards 2022.
She took to Instagram and wrote: “Well this was an interesting night, congrats to everyone but not one R&B win. Guess I just need to work harder.” Many fans on social media are upset that Doja Cat earned the R&B categories at the Billboard Awards over Summer Walker, who they perceive to be a Pop artist.
Ken Barbie said: “Nothing against Doja Cat; she’s certainly talented… but why does she keep getting pushed into these R&B categories? How did she just beat Summer Walker to earn a Billboard Music Award for female R&B artist?”
Furthermore, Larry a.k.a. LVRD Pharoh, Summer Walker’s lover, is reportedly dissatisfied with the results of the 2022 Billboard Music Awards. On Sunday, May 15, he took to Instagram to criticize Billboard after Doja Cat won two R&B awards, including Top R&B Artist and Top R&B Female Artist, for which Summer was also up.
Doja was chosen the winner of the Top R&B Artist award at the 2022 Billboard Music Awards, which took place on Sunday at the MGM Arena in Las Vegas.
