Supermodel Kate Moss is expected to appear in Fairfax, Virginia, courtroom via video link to testify in Johnny Depp’s explosive defamation trial against Amber Heard. Moss was dragged into the case on May 5, when Heard told jurors that the only time she had struck Johnny Depp while they were in Australia because it reminded her of the moment Depp allegedly pushed his then-girlfriend Kate Moss down a flight of stairs.
“I don’t hesitate. I don’t wait. I instantly think of Kate Moss and the stairs, and I struck him,” Heard uttered. She referred to a rumor that Depp had once pushed the British icon down the stairs. Johnny Depp has strongly denied Heard’s allegations, and he even went so far as to invite his ex-girlfriend to testify in court about the incident.
In the 1990s, Kate Moss and Johnny Depp were involved in a passionate relationship that ended the relationship. Although it was rumored that they got into some problems when they wrecked a hotel room and Depp had to compensate the company for almost $10,000 in damages, Moss never claimed that Depp was violent towards her.
In Fairfax County Circuit Court in Virginia, Depp is suing Heard for $50 million over an op-ed she published in 2018 claiming herself as a victim of domestic abuse, which he claims damaged his image and business. Heard claims that her ex-husband and his former attorney plotted to discredit her by labeling her abuse claims a lie in a $100 million countersuit.
Ms. Heard and Mr. Depp have both testified in the weeks-long trial. Both gave dramatically contrasting versions of their brief and turbulent marriage. Mr. Depp, according to Ms. Heard, was addicted to alcohol and drug episodes were quickly triggered by jealousy and were frequently overtaken by violent rages. Mr. Depp, for his part, said he was a victim of Ms. Heard’s erratic behavior. He told jurors he was subjected to her verbal, emotional, and physical abuse on a regular basis.
