The Forbes 30 Under 30 list has been released, and two Pakistani women from various areas have lived up to expectations. Dur-e-Aziz Amna and Shawana Shah are among the two women who made it to the Forbes ’30 under 30’ Asia list 2022. Both have made their country proud by earning recognition in Forbes’s ’30 under 30’ Asia list 2022 for their respective work.
According to Forbes, nearly 4,000 people submitted for a place on this year’s list, and 300 young game-changers were chosen from a variety of industries. Dur-e-Aziz Amna was recognized in the media, marketing, and advertising categories, while Shawana Shah was recognized in the social impact category.
Shawana Shah is the co-founder of Da Hawwa Lur, a platform that supports girls, women, and transgender people in Pakistan on political, social, and economic levels. Shah has also founded various feminist organizations and was the first Asian to receive the Muhammad Ali Humanitarian Award in 2016. In 2019, she was chosen to join the UN Women’s Beijing+25 Youth Task Force.
On the other hand, Dur e Aziz Amna is a Yale graduate with a Pakistani background. Her debut novel, American Fever, portrays the coming-of-age story of a Pakistani Muslim girl in rural Oregon and is inspired by her cross-cultural experiences in South Asia and the United States. Amna has written for Dawn, Al Jazeera, the Financial Times, and the New York Times, among other publications.
