Chelsea Women’s Boss Emma Hayes Earn FA WSL Manager of the Season Award

Chelsea Women’s manager Emma Hayes has been crowned FA WSL Manager of the Season after winning her third league title in a row. Hayes guided her squad to victory in both the WSL and the Vitality Women’s FA Cup. They did, however, lose their Continental Cup title to Manchester City in March, losing 3-1 at Plough Lane.

A COVID-19 outbreak in the middle of the season, as well as key player injuries, made this Hayes’ most difficult season yet, even before the club was subjected to unique government restrictions as a result of owner Roman Abramovich’s decision to sell Chelsea as a result of the Russian-Ukraine conflict.

But all these difficulties did not stop Hayes climb the ladder of success. Hayes’ Chelsea team only lost twice in the league the entire season and went on a stunning unbeaten streak from January to late in the season to beat Arsenal to the title. Hayes accepted the Barclays FA Women’s Super League manager of the year award at the LMA Awards ceremony at Grosvenor House in London on Tuesday evening.

The event honored the accomplishments of premier men’s and women’s managers and coaches, as well as the winners of various other award categories. Furthermore, after a string of brilliant performances in Chelsea’s title success, Sam Kerr has been crowned FA WSL Player of the Season. After being pushed to the final day of the season by Arsenal, the Blues won the title by a single point, and Kerr played a key role in their victory.
