The Staten Island Business Outreach Center (SIBOC) has finally appointed its first woman and first Hispanic as board president. As per the announcement, Teresa Cirelli will be the new president of its Board of Directors. She has been serving the group on its board since 2017. Now she is going to succeed Roy Rucci, owner of Rucci Oil, who served as board president for over 10 years.
The appointment of a Hispanic female board president is a remarkable step in the history of the SIBOC organization. The group believed that Teresa would bring a huge nonprofit experience and the group is looking ahead to see her serving as board president. The group has earned a reputation for delivering free programming and helping small businesses, entrepreneurs, and startups.
Furthermore, Cirelli also expressed her gratitude to her fellow board members for choosing her to take the office of the Staten Island Business Outreach Center’s Board of Directors. SIBOC has been providing services to the community for more than 40 years. With Nina, SIBOC’s executive director, the committed SIBOC staff, and its seasoned Board of Directors, she is looking forward to continuing its work and extending its outreach activities.
Additionally, Cirelli has substantial experience in fundraising and development for Staten Island nonprofits. She is the director of development at Eden II Programs and helps other Island organizations with donations. Cirelli previously worked for then-Assemblyman and now-Surrogate Matthew J. Titone as a communications coordinator and deputy campaign manager.
