Global Gender Gap Report 2021 disclosed that Pakistan was positioned at 153 out of 156 countries as the country having one of the lowest numbers of women entrepreneurs, at only one percent. Unfortunately, Pakistani women encountered a number of cultural, financial, and social barriers. To help the women entrepreneur overcome these barriers, Daraz and Mobilink Microfinance Bank Limited (MMBL) has joined hands.

Pakistan’s leading online marketplace and Pakistan’s largest digital bank both join forces to support MMBL borrowers particularly women entrepreneurs, by allowing them to become sellers on Daraz. As per the partnership, MMBL and Daraz will offer adequate opportunities to promote Small and Medium Size Enterprises (SMEs). This is the best time to promote the SMEs as Daraz has launched 11.11 sales which is one of the biggest sales.

It has been disclosed that this collaboration will enable freshly onboarded MMBL female sellers to be charged zero percent commission for the first third months. It will offer them more time to establish their businesses. Moreover, female sellers from Daraz will be able to apply for MMBL loans at concessional rates.

Furthermore, as per the collaboration, MMBL’s branches will show Daraz stalls so that potential sellers can be onboarded on the e-commerce platform without a problem. Similarly, the e-commerce platform will support conversions to MMBL’s broad range of branch and branchless banking products and services.

Additionally, MMBL’s flagship program, Women Inspirational Network (WIN), and Daraz’s Ibtida joined forces to offer an amazing momentum to their joint mission of improving the skills of women entrepreneurs and offering them easy access to digitally equipped growth opportunities. Women entrepreneurs will be able to easily sell their products and services on Daraz after this collaboration.
