A 74-year-old innovative grandmother Terry Fry has used her self-taught crafting skills to establish a new business named Craft Tree by Terry. She spent most of her time in her craft room and turned this hobby into her own small business. Terry disclosed that she has started with basket weaving and then she turned to stained glass, and pottery, and cross-stitch.
She disclosed that when she chose crochet she wanted to do more and enjoyed doing her craft. Terry said that it’s a stress reliever to work with your hands. She revealed that 25-years ago when she was retired, she came to know that she wanted to do knitting.
Terry Fry has taken the help of YouTube to learn crochet. She utilizes a needle and yarn to create her critters. Using her talent she made different stuffed animals. She made soft, plush, washable, squeezable, lovable, huggable stuffed octopus, stuffed Zebra, Giraffe, Tiger, and many other stuffed toys.
In the beginning, when she started making stuffed animals, she gave them to her granddaughters, but they had so many that she decided that maybe she needed to expand a little. Terry said that she is relieved as the kids and even the big kids like her stuffed animals. She named her business Craft Tree by Terry and is now a regular at local markets and is even presented at Handmade on Main in Boerne, Texas.
The innovative grandmother has advised others that it’s never too late to do something new. She advised others that if you love it, then do it. There’s a lot of talent out there and she is surprised she is actually doing it.
