Emirati Holding firm Majid Al Futtaim has taken a remarkable decision to promote the role of women in technology. Majid Al Futtaim has disclosed that it has decided to begin a coding program created particularly for women to promote the role of women in technology. The decision to introduce the coding program is consistent with the government-headed drive, ‘Projects of the 50’.
The government-headed action strives to bring 100 coders every day to the UAE’s workforce and get the highest rate of female coders per capita in the world in the next five years. As per the decision of Majid Al Futtaim, it will offer a notable platform for women in tech to make their impression on the industry.
In addition to this, the Emirati Holding firm has set the goal to train 5,000 women over the next five years. It has been disclosed that the program will target university undergraduates, recent grads, and career women, as well as upskilling MAFers. At the beginning of the program, the main priority of Majid Al Futtaim is to create a devoted tech community for interactive knowledge sharing in partnership with the UAE Government, industry, and academia.
It will cover outreach to universities across the emirate to develop an interest in tech subjects and inspire women to enter the sector at a greater speed. Moreover, this drive will help Majid Al Futtaim attain its goal to hire more than 35 percent of women in sophisticated technologies and digital roles by 2023.
