The legendary actress of Pakistan Durdana Butt has succumbed to COVID-19 on Thursday in Karachi. She was in her 80s. Durdana Butt has played many important roles in different Pakistani drama serials. She had gathered attention because of her tremendous performance in dramas like Aangan Terha, Ruswai, and Tanhaiyaan.
The veteran actress was born on May 9, 1938, in Lahore. She had begun her acting journey in the early 70s. In her life, she not only starred in dramas but in movies also such as Balu Mahi, Parey Hut Love, Ishq Positive, and Dil Diyan Gallan.
She was a gem but finally returned to her Creator. The news of her death was disclosed by RJ Khalid Malik. He took to Instagram and shared the sad news of her death. He wrote: “Durdana (Dodi) Apa has transitioned from this realm back to her Creator. The wise. The humorous. The insightful Durdana Butt is a special soul now back in His embrace.”
According to sources, she had contracted COVID-19 and when her condition deteriorated, she was placed on a ventilator. But unfortunately, she lost her life battle to COVID-19. Soon after the news of her death, the celebrities, politicians, and people from all walks of life started pouring comforts messages.
Journalist and public relations specialist Tehmina Khalid also verified Butt’s death and told though she had Covid, she also had been suffering from cancer for the past few years. She was in bad health before she contracted COVID-19.
