American Professional Basketball Player Candace Parker has made history as she became the first woman to be featured on the cover of NBA 2K. The Chicago Sky star will feature on the NBA 2K22 cover for the WNBA 25th anniversary special edition when it will be published on Sept. 10.
Parker disclosed that in the start when she joined WNBA, she might not have respected it as much as she does now. She expressed her emotions and said: “I think when you’re young and experience these types of things, you’re onto the next thing. As I’ve gotten older, I’ve really enjoyed the moment.”
Candace who grew up playing video games, now makes everyone proud to be appearing on the cover of NBA 2K as she becomes the first female who will be appeared on the cover. Parker entered into the exclusive group of female athletes to beautify covers of sports games. Shawn Johnson was on a Gymnastics by Wii game in 2010, and Jelena Dokic was on a tennis game in the early 2000s.
Parker took to Twitter and wrote: “Extremely proud and humbled to be the first female cover athlete in the history of NBA 2K. I’m honored to work with a company that’s investing in women and betting on us to succeed. I’m hoping there will be many more badass females to follow.”
Furthermore, the 35-year-old former MVP believed that there were a lot of players who could have been the first and was humbled by the fact that she was selected. Parker disclosed that she is a fan of basketball as she eats, sleeps, and breathes basketball.
