American artistic gymnast Simone Biles disclosed that she has decided not to participate in Gymnastics’ all-around final at Tokyo Olympics. Her decision to withdraw from the competition came after she revealed that she is not in the right state of mind and it is difficult for her to continue participating in the competition.

Simone feared that she would experience injury if she plays in a distressed state of mind.  She has joined the competition in the hope to bring a gold medal home and make her country proud. But unfortunately, she would not be able to fulfill her duty as a gymnast star.

She is the most enthusiastic gymnast in the world but now she is not sure whether her mental health would allow her to compete again in Tokyo Olympics.  USA Gymnastics disclosed on Wednesday that she will be replaced by Jade Carey in the Olympics. USA Gymnastics allows her to take rest and focus on her mental health. USA Gymnastics praised her bravery and courage that she prioritized her health.

Biles disclosed: “I’m struggling with something. It sucks when you are fighting with your own head.” The decision of Biles to step back from the competition will adversely affect the team’s performance. The team has secured a gold medal at every world championship and Olympics since 2010.
