Lilibet Diana’s Name Officially Added to British Royal Family’s Line of Succession

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s daughter Lilibet Diana’s name is finally added to the Buckingham Palace line of succession. Meghan and Harry’s daughter was born on June 4. Her parents gave her the name Lilibet “Lili” Diana Mountbatten-Windsor.

Her mother Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, and father Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex earlier disclosed that they have decided to step down from their royal duties. They are currently living in California with their two children including son Archie and two-month-old daughter Lilibet Diana.

Furthermore, the name of Lili was added to the line of succession 2 months after her birth. On the other hand, her brother Archie’s name was added to the line of succession the 15th day after her birth while Prince Louis, the youngest child of Prince William and Kate Middleton, the name was added 12 days after he was born.

As per the Buckingham Palace website, Lilibet is eighth in line to the throne after her brother Archie who is seventh in line to the throne. The Prince of Wales and Duke of Cambridge are first and second in line to the throne, respectively. On the other hand, the children of Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince George of Cambridge, Princess Charlotte of Cambridge, Prince Louis of Cambridge are three, fourth, and fifth in line to the throne. While the Duke of Sussex is 6th in line to the throne.
