Why Kim Mulkey Leaves Baylor for LSU?

Basketball coach Kim Mulkey has been named as head coach of the LSU women’s basketball team. Director of Athletics Scott Woodward has disclosed the appointment of Kim Mulkey as the head coach of LSU. She has been recognized as the most successful player-turned-coach in college basketball history.

Kim has also gained a reputation as the winner of an Olympic Gold Medal in 1984. She is the only person in college basketball history both in men’s or women’s basketball to secure national championships as a head coach, assistant coach, and player. 

Furthermore, LSU will introduce her as the head coach at a press conference on Monday. At Baylor, she spent 21-years of her life as a head coach and directed the Lady Bears to four Final Fours, securing three national titles. Her teams achieved the Elite Eight six times and the Sweet 16 on five other events.

In 20-years, she directed Baylor to an NCAA Tournament appearance 19 times in 20 years. Additionally, she directed Baylor to the Women’s NIT championship game in her third year in Waco. Baylor VP has wished her success for her future endeavors and for her return to her home state.

Baylor Lady Bears took to Twitter and give the success credit to Kim. The search for a new head coach for Baylor Women‘s Basketball head coach is underway. During her tenure as the head coach, she trained her team in such a way that makes everyone proud.
