Queen Elizabeth, the world’s oldest monarch, turns 95 on Wednesday. She marked her 95th birthday without her husband of 73 years, Prince Philip. It has been disclosed that there will be no celebration of Queen’s birthday as she bid farewell to her husband a few days ago.

Prince Philip passed away on April 9, 2021, and his funeral was held on Saturday. Queen Elizabeth will spend the day at Windsor Castle during a period of royal mourning after the death of Prince Philip.

The decision of birthday celebration is taken in light of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic as well as the royal mourning period. This is the tradition that the Queen will celebrate her birthday two time in a year. She will spend her real birthday in private with her family.

A Buckingham Palace representative announced: “After discussion with Government and other relevant individuals has been accepted that The Queen’s Official Birthday Parade, also known as Trooping the Colour, will not go forward this year in its usual form in central London.

Furthermore, it has been revealed that some royal family members will join the Queen in Windsor Castle for lunch. Prince Harry will not attend the family lunch as he has to return to the US where his wife Meghan Markle and son Archie are present.

The representative of Britain’s Ministry of Defense verified that the traditional gun tributes, which take place at Hyde Park and the Tower of London to celebrate the Queen’s birthday, will not occur for the second time in a series. Last year, the tribute was canceled as the Queen considered this inappropriate during the difficult time of the pandemic.
