Norwegian football coach Hege Riise disclosed the reason why her team was unable to defeat Canada. She admitted that her side has lost because of the lack of creativity. According to her, in the game, one party wins and the other loses. She said one who loses the match gets the chance to pinpoint its weaknesses and work on them to improve them.

Ahead of Team GB squad declaration for the Tokyo Olympics, the Lionesses has lost and returned the triumph to a team who sits two points below them in the world rankings. The Lioness has lost the chance to impress interim Hege Riise.

England Women has encountered the second consecutive failure as two frustrating fallacies handed Canada a 2-0 friendly triumph at the bet365 Stadium. In the last five minutes of the game, their expectations were doused when skilled England goalkeeper Karen Bardsley unable to clear the ball on her goal-line, and Nichelle Prince throws the final push over the line.

Head coach Hege Riise was left ‘saddened’ after England Women collapsed to a ninth failure in 14 games, with a 2-0 loss to Canada. Riise stated that she is baffled after the team lost to Canada but the thing which added to her frustration is the absence of creativity in the team performance.

She said that the team had the ball and they can play well in the second half than the first, but they were unable to get the goal. Hege stated: “We were a bit frustrated with the ball, Canada competitive in the strength, so that was the effort I think we had today.”
