In recent times, everyone has recognized the capabilities of women as they are standing shoulder to shoulder with men. They have proved that they are capable of doing everything they have been assigned. This woman has also proved that like every other sector women can work well in the transport sector as well.
Seema Thakur has become the first-ever woman driver of Himachal Pradesh Road Transport Corporation (HRTC), embarked on a bus on the Shimla-Chandigarh route on Wednesday. Seema has become the first HRTC female driver to run on the interstate route.
Back in 2016, she has joined HRTC as a driver. HRTC has a total of 8,800 employees but Seema is the only woman who is working in the male-dominated sector and breaking stereotypes. She holds a degree in English.
She is providing trust to other women and urging them to join this sector. Seema has disclosed that bus drivers are also the fighters who are fighting against the virus as they don’t get the opportunity to ask their passengers to show whether they are COVID-19 negative or positive.
She demanded the government to start the vaccination of bus drivers as well as they are exposed to viruses on regular basis. Talking about her experience, she revealed that she is having a good time and is happy to get this opportunity.
Seem disclosed that she is the first female bus driver in the region and in the state of Himachal Pradesh. Her story is an inspiration for other women who have the talent but they hesitate to take the first step.
