Mithali Raj, an Indian cricketer has added one more achievement in the feather of her cap as she is named as the first Indian Woman to make 10, 000 runs across all the formats in International Cricket. Mithali has made the biggest achievement in the ongoing ODI against South Africa in Lucknow.
Mithali is now become the second international cricketer after Charlotte Edwards of England who completed the 10K runs. Mithali has stockpiled 663 runs in 10 Test matches with a best score of 214, while she has collected 6938 scores runs from 212 ODIs and 2364 runs from 89 T20 Internationals.
BCCI has praised the cricketer for her outstanding achievement. BCCI considered Mithali a champion cricketer. If we look at her cricket career, she made her International first appearance against Ireland back in 1999. During her career, she has played 212 ODIs and broke seven centuries and 54 half-centuries in the 50-over format.
Back in September 2019, she disclosed that she has decided to retire from T20 Internationals. When she announced her retirement, she was the first Indian woman who scored 2000 T20I runs. She took the retirement decision from T20I to focus her full energy on the 2020 One Day World Cup.
