International Women’s Day is being celebrated all around the globe on 8th March to encourage gender equality and to highlight the achievement of females all around the globe. Pakistanis are also celebrating this day to raise awareness about gender equality. Organizers are preparing to hold Aurat Marches all around Pakistan to commemorate Women’s Day.
The first Aurat March took place in 2018 in Karachi. The next year, it has been expanded to more cities, involving Faisalabad, Larkana, and Hyderabad, Lahore, and Multan. This year too, the marches will take place in Islamabad, Lahore and Karachi, and other cities of Pakistan.
Organizers have decided to arrange the Aurat March at Frere Hall. As the Coronavirus pandemic has affected people all around the globe, SOPs will be strictly followed in the Marches to ensure the safety of all the participants.
Moreover, all the politicians and celebrities have also marked International Women’s Day. Ministers and politicians are highlighting the important role of females.
Females are also playing an important part to fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. DG ISPR has also shared a message for the females on International Women’s Day.
NA Speaker Asad Qaiser, Sen. Shibli Faraz, and PMLN-VP Maryam Nawaz have also marked International Women’s Day.
Maryam Nawaz stated that the society without empowered females becomes dysfunctional. She said that she is seeing Pakistan where females excel in every field.
