Grammy award-winning musician SOPHIE’s agency announced that the singer has passed away aged 34. The sudden demise of SOPHIE comes as a shock since the cause of death is still not very clear, however, respect and privacy for the family are of utmost priority at the moment.

She was pronounced dead after she was found lifeless in her residence in Athens, Greece this morning around 4 am. Fans and admirers have been asked to treat the matter with a certain level of sensitivity and to patiently wait until further notice.

Born in Glasgow, SOPHIE made some remarkable transformations in the pop genre and collaborated with famous personalities like Nicki Minaj, Vince Staples, and Kim Petras. SOPHIE worked with Madonna on her 2015 single ‘Bitch I’m Madonna’ which turned out to be a record-breaking hit.

SOPHIE was known for bringing creativity to music because of her individuality. The performer used the Monomachine to create sounds resembling plastic, latex, bubbles and balloons, metal and elastic. She produced artistic and lyrically aesthetic and pleasing tracks that left the audience stunned and listeners captivated.

Numbers paid tribute to the pop icon stating that we are deeply saddened by this tragedy. SOPHIE was a true inspiration, a symbol of liberation, the world has lost an amazingly talented individual.

Her debut album Oil of Every Pearl’s Un-Insides did exceptionally well and got nominated for Best Dance/Electronic Album in 2019.
