Hollywood actress Jane Fonda is to receive the Cecil B. DeMille at the Golden Globes this year. The award appreciates and applauds those who have made outstanding contributions to the world of entertainment.
The list of past recipients consists of big names like Meryl Streep, Oprah Winfrey, Tom Hanks, Robert DeNiro, Sean Connery, Jodie Foster, Martin Scorsese, and Steven Spielberg.
The Hollywood Foreign Press Association stated that it feels proud to give the honor to Fonda who has had a remarkable career and made a name for herself in the industry.
It added that her unwavering commitment to evoking change has managed to inspire millions and now more than ever is the perfect time to recognize and praise her efforts.
The beauty of her onscreen presence has mesmerized and allured audiences for years, giving exceptional performances and taking on diverse roles in several blockbuster movies like The China Syndrome and other classics such as 9 to 5 and Klute.
She recently appeared in the Netflix series Grace and Frankie portraying the titular character of Grace Henson alongside her co-star Lily Tomlin who played the character of Frankie Bergstein.
Some of her other successful works include her first exercise video called Jane Fonda’s Workout which was released in 1982 and achieved new heights of success, garnering a lot of attention and a huge fan following thereafter.
Jane has been equally vocal about her political stances. She has actively participated in various causes such as championing civil rights, protesting the Vietnam War, and fighting for feminist issues.
Her philanthropic activities involve working to battle hunger and poverty, educating about neonatal and mother care, raising awareness about safe sex and contraceptives, and creating a brighter and better tomorrow for future generations.
