Pakistani Female Mountaineer All Set To Become First Muslim Woman To climb K2

Special Communications Organization announced that it will sponsor Samina Baig, the country’s first female climber to safely ascend the 2nd highest peak in the world and if successful she will become the first Muslim woman to do so.

She is a high altitude alpinist and has much experience managing to successfully backpack the Seven Summits at the young age of 21 and was honored with the Pride of Performance Award for this proud and distinguished accomplishment.

Baig will now make an effort to conquer the 8,611m tall summit to promote women’s empowerment and educate the people about global warming and climate change.

Born and raised in the northern province of Gilgit Baltistan the young enthusiast shared that she is very grateful to the SCO for this collaboration and is eagerly anticipating going on this thrilling expedition and write history.

Prior to this the SCO has organized many sporting events in Azad Jammu and Kashmir and other regions and aims to provide opportunities to women to excel and grow.

The SCO stated that not only this partnership showcases Samina’s skills and abilities but also represents Pakistan’s talents on a global level and will have a positive impact on adventure activities and the tourism sector.

The agreement between the two parties was signed at the firm’s headquarters and included financial aid and other funding to assist in the endeavor.

The team will begin its trek from Skardu in May 2021 and in the meanwhile make all necessary preparations to emerge victoriously and add another feather to the cap of wins and achievements.
