It hardly comes as a surprise that Michelle Obama knows how to dress up for an occasion and in the process manages to wow her admirers.
Podcast host and writer Tracy Clayton expressed her excitement on Twitter remarked, “I am LOSING IT over how good she looks!” and many agreed that it portrayed a perfect balance between elegance and class.
Staying true to her long tradition of supporting new and emerging young Black designers, she appeared at the Presidential inauguration adorning an ankle-length burgundy and plum attire by Sergio Hudson, a Los Angeles based label that specializes in luxury clothing for women.
The ensemble comprised of a turtleneck sweater top paired with boot cut wide-legged pants and a structured coat. She looked beautiful with minimal makeup and her voluminous curls cascading down her shoulders, mesmerizing everyone in attendance.
Michelle chose to accessorize with one of the brand’s signature handmade leather belts, fastened with a circular brass buckle and of course a face mask for safety.
This the second time she has opted to wear Hudson, the first being at the Essence Festival in New Orleans in 2019 where she adorned a shining navy blue jumpsuit with a matching waistband.
It was a memorable day for Hudson since its opening in 2014 as it also came up with a gorgeous pair of heels especially created for Vice President Kamala Harris who took oath for office that Wednesday evening.
