Santos Laguna’s Women Coach Succumb To COVID19

Martin Perez Padron, aged 57 passed away after fighting an extremely complicated battle with COVID-19.

The head administrator of the women’s team Santos Laguna contracted the disease earlier this year in an outbreak that took millions of lives and infected a total of ten players in the squad.

Soon condolences started to pour in to grieve the loss of an exemplary manager and leader. The club stated that it stands in support of the deceased’s family and will find it to be there for them in this sad time of hardship, heartbreak and pain.

It added that Padron took all precautions and religiously followed all protocols however he still fell and in the end, the pandemic claimed his life, which has taken a disastrous toll not only on their county but across the globe.

Perez started his coaching career in 2003 and joined Santos in 2018 as its assistant coach after gaining experience and working with several other teams. He was in charge of a total of 25 games before he started to show the symptoms.

The Federation reminisced and applauded the man for his dedication towards the sport and urged everyone to be safe and prioritize health for their own well-being.
