On Monday, December 7, Jacinda Ardern, New Zealand Prime Minister promised to the families of Christchurch mosque victims the accountability of culprits before the public release reports of this worst genocide into the country.

The event happened last year on March 15, 2019, when white Australian racist Brenton Tarrant killed 51 Muslim worshippers and injured many people in the other two more mosques of South Island city. Brenton Tarrant got sentenced to life long jail in August.

A Royal Commission inquiry was made to point out the government agency’s errors. On Tuesday the reports of the commission will be made public in New Zealand’s Parliament.

In a regular media briefing, PM Jacinda Ardern said that I value the community’s needs to see the liability putting in terms of execution. They will need to see that who is accountable for the heinous crime and we will provide them that.

It took 18 months for the 792-page report to get ready for public display and this report contains all the interviews with security agencies, leaders of Muslim communities, and England, Norway, Australian officials including the Prime minister herself.

PM New Zealand is being appreciated by the whole world for taking steps regarding the attack and banning the high capacity semi-automatic weapons used in that attack. She also started action against online radicalism.

But Critics criticized the failing government agencies for not taking increasing hate crimes and racist behavior complaints from Muslim communities seriously. They also said that these agencies failed to take care of the increasing racist behavior of the white community towards Muslims because they were too concerned about Islamic terrorism.

On Sunday, PM Ardern met victims’ families and survivors of the attack and assured them quick action on the report of the royal commission but it will take some time for the recommendations to be implemented.
