Future Foldable iPhone May Have Self-Healing Screen That Fixes Scratches

Apple is developing a solution for all those iPhone users facing cracked screen problems. An Apple patent application has revealed that Apple is developing a foldable iPhone with a ‘self-healing screen’.

Screen damage is the major issue the users of foldable phones have faced such as Samsung Galaxy Fold. When the users fold the screen the trapped particles or dirt damaged the screen.

Apple has never disappointed its users and this time a multi-national technology company is going to address the screen damage problem.

Apple has proposed that it will use elastomer, an elastic material that regains its shape when heated. The patent application of Apple Inc. has revealed that the proposed technology could be used in phones, laptops, tablets, watches, and other devices.

The title of the patent application read ‘Electronic Devices With Flexible Display Cover Layers’. It suggests that the foldable iPhone may have an outer layer of glass sapphire or other transparent materials.

It works as a protective layer for thin-film transistor circuitry and other display structures. The patent disclosed: “Self-healing may occur in the layer of self-healing material without prompting.”

It means when the self-healing coating is dented, the material of the coating may fill the dent even without external intervention.
