Sen. Susan Collins slammed President Donald Trump during her senate debate in Maine. Susan said that President Trump should have been ‘straightforward’ with the American people regarding the seriousness of the coronavirus pandemic.
Collins said that as a President of the US it was his responsibility to tell all that he has known. Susan’s comment about Trump came after the recordings of an interview between President Trump and journalist Bob Woodward.
In a series of interviews with Woodward, Trump disclosed many times that he knew every detail regarding the seriousness of coronavirus. He himself admitted that he hid the truth about coronavirus from the public.
Trump said in a recording that he wanted to play it [virus] down because he doesn’t want to create panic in public.
Senator Collins said that that the performance of the president is uneven. He should follow the advice of his medical advisors.
Collin has refrained from saying anything regarding the reelection of Trump. She chose to stay quiet on the issue after Gideon challenge her during the debate.
Susan said that she doesn’t think that the people of Maine need her advice on whom to support for the president. The four-time senator is facing the difficult reelection campaign of her career.
