Olympic boxer Nicola Adams was confirmed as the latest celebrity to join the 2020 series of prime time BBC show ‘Strictly Come Dancing’. She will make history as part of the same-sex pairing on ‘Strictly Come Dancing.’
It has been disclosed that a retired sportswoman has given the idea of same-sex pair dance on the show. Nicola said she was asked to do a show. She agreed on the condition to dance with a same-sex partner.
Olympic boxer is excited to change the history and breaking the boundaries in the entertainment industry. She revealed that she is the fan of the show and excited to become the part of something which holds a special place in the heart of people.
Nicola is the British former professional boxer who competed from 2017 to 2019. She had won the gold medal for Great Britain at the 2012 and 2016 Summer Olympics.
Earlier, the show has faced criticism for not featuring the same-sex pair in the show. This move is the most important step of the UK’s most-watched show which pairs celebrities with professional dancers. The dance couple eliminated each week by public vote.
Nicola Adams thanked BBC for their support in this new move. Nicola who is bisexual said that this move of ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ is a brilliant step in the right direction.
