Marvi Sarmad insensitive Tweet sparked new controversary as she made a sarcastic comment that was considered derogatory in nature towards Hazrat Isa (AS).
#ArrestMarviSirmed_295C is trending on Twitter after Netizens asked the government to arrest her for violating Section 295-C of the Pakistan Penal Code.
Section 295-C made it a criminal offense to use derogatory remarks in respect of the Holy Prophet (PBUH). 295-C was added by an act of the parliament in 1986.
Marvi shared the English Translation of her Tweet which she shared in Urdu. She wrote: “The tweet which is generating a lot of abuse, blasphemy allegations, and threats. For those who don’t read Urdu: Mullah told Jesus Christ didn’t die, he was picked up by God. A simpleton asked: Was Jesus a Baloch?”
“For Pete’s sake, how it is blasphemous? How????, she asked.”
Marvi Sarmad, an outspoken Pakistani journalist and human rights activist, made a sarcastic remark about the state’s disappearance mechanism in Balochistan, which many Pakistanis have condemned in the context of blasphemy.
Marvi Sarmad took to Twitter and tried to justify her tweet. She wrote: “Blasphemy is in the eyes of the beholder. My tweet doesn’t insult any religion.”
“But it certainly mocks Pakistan’s dark forces that violate all norms of decency, constitution & law, by #EnforcedDisappearances murder and torture. Who are these dark forces? Penny for your guess,” she added.

Netizens said that this is unacceptable. They didn’t allow anyone to mention Hazrat Isa (AS) in a satirical comment.
