Bella Thorne Apologizes Following Changes To OnlyFan Policies

American actress Bella Thorne found herself under fire after she was accused of allegedly scamming her fans. OnlyFan workers accused her of changing the pricing policies which have financially affected its content creators.

The new controversy started after Bella broke the record and became the first Onlyfan member to generate US$1.39 (A$1.9m) million in just 24 hours.

Workers claimed that the policy change was implemented after the Thorne has made US$2 million (A$2.7 million) just a week after joining the site.

Onlyfan is the subscription-based social media platform which allows entertainer, musician, influencers, and artists to charge a fee for their feed.

After joining the platform, Bella has charged $20 for access to her page. She has collected $1 million a day after changing the pricing policy.

Subscription platform has implemented the new policy which has prevented the creators from charging US$40 for pay per view click content. Onlyfan has stopped users from collecting US$100.

Bella Thorne has faced backlash after this new controversy. She took to Twitter and shared her point of view.

Bella said that she wanted to remove the stigma behind sex, sex work, and the negativity that surrounds the word SEX itself by bringing a mainstream face to it.

The actress said that her goal is to bring more faces to the site to create revenue for content creators on the site.

Thorne wrote: “I wanted to bring attention to the site. The more people on the site the more likely of a chance to normalize the stigmas.”

She added: “I have risked my career a few times to remove the stigma behind sex work, porn.”

Furthermore, she clarified that she used her platform to help others. She apologized for hurting the sex workers.

22-years old actress said that she is in discussion with Onlyfan about the new restriction. Furthermore, she asked people to send her links and pictures so that she can promote them.

An OnlyFans spokesperson said: “Transaction limits are set to help prevent overspending. Its aim is to allow our users to continue to use the site safely.”
Additionally, the platform confirmed that any changes to transaction limits are not based on anyone user.”
