Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader announced Friday she is suffering from cancer. Justice Ruth is undergoing a course of chemotherapy on May 19 to treat a recurrence of cancer.
She said that her scan on July 7 has indicated a significant reduction of the liver lesions. Ruth said she is tolerating chemotherapy well and encouraged by the success of her current treatment.
Earlier, this week she was admitted to John Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore after experiencing fever and chills. She has been undergone an endoscopic procedure to clean out a bile duct stent that was placed last August.
Justice Ginsburg was treated for pancreatic cancer in 2009 and it seems like cancer has returned again but this time in her liver. She tried various chemotherapies to shrink the tumor but failed to do so.
Ginsburg has experienced cancer many times. In 1999 she had colon cancer. In 2018 tumor was taken out of her lung. She has pancreatic cancer in 2019.
