A female protestor was assaulted by the NYPD officer during the protest over the death of George Floyd. Video of an officer was floating on the internet which shocked the citizen. Video revealed the officer was violently throwing a 20-year old Dounya Zayer to the ground.
Officer Vincent D’Andraia was suspended without pay after his video went viral. Brooklyn district attorney’s office charged him with assault, harassment.

Dounya’s lawyers disclosed in court that after the attack she had suffered a seizure, concussion. Video disclosed the officer called the girl a stupid f***ing b***h and throw her to the ground in a way that her shoes flew out in the air.
Later Zayer disclosed that the officer asked her to get out of his way and when she asked her why he shoved her to the ground.
Dounya took to Twitter from the hospital and said: “Stop making excuses for the police. They are supposed to be protecting us. Not hurting.”
