Hanan Ibrahim became the Melbourne Fashion Festival’s first Muslim model to wear a hijab on the runway. 27-year old Hanan Ibrahim disclosed she never imagined in her wildest dreams that a woman who wears a hijab would pursue her career in the fashion industry.
When she was young she heard from many people that ‘You Should be a model.’
A 27-year old model earlier worked as the radiation therapist. She said: “I never imagined that a woman who wears a hijab would or could be used as a model.’
Hanan said it is an honor for her to represent Muslim women in the fashion industry. Hanan has also featured in campaigns for brands including Mimco and Remuse Designs.
She said all the stylists, photographer, and designer she worked with has just been incredibly open. She said she loved to walk on the runway and her journey is amazing.
