Climate change activist Greta Thunberg has raised her voice about the threat of climate change. She urged the world leader to treat the climate change threat with the same urgency as coronavirus.
A Swedish activist said that the COVID-19 pandemic has led the world to a social tipping point. While talking on a Swedish radio program she said we can no longer ignore these threats.
She said thousands of people in London have died because of pollution. Greta slammed major industries for the misuse of terms like ‘sustainable’, ‘net zero’, and environmentally friendly.
She said in a crisis like the pandemic we act to overcome the problem with necessary force. Greta Thunberg added: “People in power are saying they will do whatever it takes since you cannot put a price on human life.”
A 17-year old activist hoped that there are chances that the world leaders will discuss the deaths due to climate change.
She said that the Balck lives protests have shown that society now reached the point where we can no longer ignore the injustice.
“People are starting to find their voice and know they can have actually made an impact,” she added. She said: “Listen to science. Listen to experts.”
