Amazon.com, Inc has started a program for the regular testing of its workers. The pilot testing program is currently in the refining process. Amazon has distributed masks to employees and also started temperature checks to ensure the health and safety of workers during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Amazon’s representative disclosed that the company has started a small scale pilot program. He said that the next step of Amazon is the regular testing of its employees. Currently, the pilot program has been launched for the regular testing of employees.
Shares of Amazon traded up 3.04% at 2600.86 during the last trading session on Tuesday. AMZN has a day low range of 2525.00 and a day high range of 2626.43. Amazon Inc moved up 2.80% from its 52-weeks high and increased 59.95% from its 52-weeks low.
Earlier, AMZN’s CEO Jeff Bezos disclosed that the company would spend $4 billion on coronavirus related expenses. Amazon also planning to develop its own testing capabilities.
Amazon is also developing its own diagnostic labs to analyze the test sample. In April, the company disclosed its first lab being assembled.
AMZN has made over 150 process updates from enhanced cleaning and social distancing measures to new efforts like disinfectant spray. It also gave a paid leave to those workers who caught coronavirus.
For its customers, Amazon has started the distribution of free masks to customers at all of its retail stores. It has also started the cleaning of retail stores and whole food markets stores.
