A baby girl found dead in a residential road in Portsmouth in the morning. Three women aged 39, 21, and 20 were detained on suspicion of conspiracy to murder.
The infant’s body was discovered beneath the city street lamp in Portsmouth. The newborn was covered in a yellow towel and Police believe that her mother dropped the baby.
Police launched the investigation and searched for the suspect by analyzing CCTV footages of almost 60 different places. National Crime Agency also joined for the wide-scale investiagtion.
Police requested mother to come forward for the sake of her health and believed that yellow towel is a clue which lead towards the mother’s identity.
Detective Chief Inspector Simon Baker said that they are doing their best to solve this issue. Police are not in the position to give further details.
He said officers will be conducting the investigation in the city today so if anyone has any information regarding the case, please step forward.
