American singer-songwriter Lana Del Rey opened up about the criticism she faced because of her songs about emotionally abusive relationships. She also addressed the double standard she has experienced as a woman in the music industry.
Lana Del Rey’s real name is Elizabeth Woolridge Grant. She is famous for themes of tragic romance and glamour in her music. Elizabeth took to Instagram and expressed her frustration.
She questioned the music culture in a lengthy Instagram post. Lana also revealed the name of singers such as Ariana Grande, Beyonce, Nicki Minaj, Doja Cat, Camila, and Kehlani. Lana said their song hit number one with songs about being sexy, ‘wearing no clothes’.
She wrote: “Can I please go back to singing about being embodied, feeling beautiful by being in love even if the relationship is not perfect, or dancing for money or whatever I want without being crucified or saying that I am glamorizing abuse.”
Lana expressed her anger because all the singers and writers said that she is glamorizing abuse but in reality, she is a glamorous person. She said she always talked about the truth we all are facing in today’s world.
34-years old ‘born to die’ singer wrote: “I just want to say over the last ten years I think it’s pathetic that my minor lyrical exploration detailing my sometimes or submissive or passive roles in my relationships has often made people say I’ve set women back hundreds of years.”

The singer continued she is not a feminist. She said she always revealed the truth she has experienced in her relationships. At the end of her post singer revealed that her new album scheduled to release on 5th September.
