Emotional footage revealed a 60-year-old woman, Li Jingzhi, met her son after 32 years who was kidnapped at the age of two. Mother searched for him tirelessly for over three decades.
Li’s son nicknamed Jia Jia was abducted on the street in 1988. His mother had spent 32 years of life in search of him in China. Li’s son was adopted by a family by paying 6,000 yuans (£690). Police searched for the family who adopted him and finally tracked him down.
A video was recorded at the Xi’an police station in Shaanxi province of North-Western where Li Jingzhi met her son. That moment was very emotional when he reached the police station both the mother and son hugged each other and broke down in tears.
Jia Jia went missing when he went outside with his father in the city of Xi’an. Jia Jia’s father known by his surname Mao took him to play in the neighborhood. He went to take water for Jia Jia for a few minutes.
When he returned her son was gone. Mao searched for him everywhere but couldn’t find him. Ms. Li was on the business trip at that time and it was revealed that she fainted when she heard the news that her son was nowhere to be seen.
Police searched for Jia Jia at that time but no one saw him. Jia Jia’s parents started searching for him for the next few years and then Ms. Li and her husband parted their ways.
Li then met a group of parents who also lost their son. Ms. Li joined them and made an organization dedicated to help families who lost their children.
Mother searched for his son in more than 20 provinces and hundreds of towns. She also started her search through social media. Li helped four families to reunite with their children.
Xi’an police made a special team for the search of Ms. Li’s son. Last month police found the clue of Jia Jia. After comparing DNA samples they finally tracked Jia Jia who is now a 34-year old man by his surname Gu.
