Maria Branyas, a 113 years old Spanish resident beat coronavirus courageously. She was recovered in Santa Maria del Tura care home. Maria is considered to be the oldest person in the world who beats the virus, reported by Gerontology Research Group.
The survivor was born in San Francisco, US on March 4, 1907. She is a valiant woman who has been through the Spanish flu pandemic in 1918 and 1919. The flu killed over 50 million people all across the world.
She is the supercentenarian beating the COVID-19 whilst 17 other people in the center died of it. She caught the virus despite intense care the center showed to protect the people above the 70s. Maria was isolated in a room until she tested negative for the disease.
Maria said, she’s curious about from where the virus entered the Spain. She is fine now with minor pains as after effects of the disease and showed gratitude towards the center’s staff.
Her daughter, Rosa Moret made a twitter account for mother reporting about her health conditions. She said, she is a strong woman who fought battle while suffering from urine infection. She got bored isolating in a room, but she is doing great now.
Maria’s father was a journalist to Palmplona who was responsible for US magazine ‘Mercurio’. She has lived 3 of the wars including World war I, II and the Spanish war.
Maria Branyas tied knot with Joan Moret in 1931 out of which he had 3 children. She has 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. All of them are eager to visit her again.
The brave woman revealed that the secret to long life is the good health telling that she never smoked her whole life. She used to go for long walks with her friends in order to stay fit.
