Katie Horne, from Burgess Hill, has died from novel coronavirus. She was waiting for her life-saving liver operation.
But unfortunately, she contracted coronavirus and was removed from the transplant list.
21-year-old Katie was seriously ill with severe liver problems. Katie was first taken to Princess Royal Hospital in Haywards Heath. Katie was told that she needed a liver transplant.
Ms. Horne was then admitted to King’s College hospital in London and after that, she tested positive for coronavirus.
Katie struggled with coronavirus and severe liver condition for 12 days. She was not placed on ventilator during her stay.
But she died while waiting for her liver-transplant on Saturday. Her family said that they are completely devastated over the sudden death of Katie.
Her sister Emma paid tribute to her and said that people should know how serious this pandemic is.
Katie’s death is a wake-up call for people to take the outbreak seriously.
Her boyfriend also expressed his grief over her death. He paid tribute to her and said that she will always be loved and will forever in our heart.
A friend of Katie also paid tribute to her and said Heaven got an angel. She will always be remembered in our hearts.
Novel coronavirus has infected 1,857,552 people around the globe and the death toll reached 114,327.
In UK, coronavirus cases jumped to 84,279 and novel virus claimed the lives of 10,612.
