NHS Medics Forced To Make PPE From Plastic Curtains

NHS medical staff claimed that they are making their gowns by cutting the plastic curtains while fighting in the frontline. Staff at the hospitals across the UK has been forced to reuse personal protective equipment as they have limited access to resources.

Previously, Health secretary Matt Hancock disclosed that 742 million pieces of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) have been delivered to Hospitals during this pandemic.

London Hospital has been told on Friday that they are not receiving gown deliveries for the next few weeks. Health secretary Matt Hancock said that the staff needs to use the same PPE between patients.

However, the hospital staff is engaged in making their own protective gear. They are forced to search the used theatre scrubs from the supplies of hospital.

Earlier, three nurses of Northwick Park Hospital have been diagnosed with COVID-19. And three of them posed last month while wearing gowns from bin bags. After that, it showed how important it is to provide the best PPE to staff who are fighting in the frontline.

There are 73,758 confirmed cases in UK and there have been 8,958 deaths.
