A grandmother who accidentally sent a text to 17-year old about Thanksgiving has lost her husband to novel coronavirus. Grandmother Wanda Dench and her husband Lonnie Dench both contracted coronavirus a few days ago.
Text Mishap happened in 2016 when grandmother accidentally sent a Thanksgiving message to 17-year old Jamal Hinton. She invited him to Thanksgiving, thinking that the number belonged to her 24-year-old grandson.
Jamal Hinton continued the conversation and they both sent selfies to each other. When she realized that she had sent a text to a wrong number, Mr Hinton asked if he still could come over for the dinner. He wrote: “Can I still get a plate tho?
Grandma immediately replied: “Of course you can that’s what grandmas do,feed everybody.” Their conversation went viral and people started following their story.
Mr Hinton went to join the family for the dinner and both the families have been celebrating Thanksgiving holidays together for four years. They became fast friends and remained in touch with each other after first Thanksgiving.
But recently Hinton shared that Wanda and her Husband both contracted coronavirus. Wanda was in self-isolation in her home but Lonnie was in hospital with the virus and pneumonia on Friday. Wanda was unable to see him.
Many People felt heartbroken after the news of Lonnie’s death. They paid tribute to Lonnie on Twitter.
