Aimee Goold, from East Retford, Nottinghamshire, who is an intensive care nurse has shared the picture of her face bruised by wearing a mask 13 hours a day. She urged people to stay at home and remember her face when thinking of going out.
The picture shows an exhausted face of Aimee with red welts and marks across her cheeks and nose. Aimee works at Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospital. She revealed that she had been working 65-hours over the last six days during the coronavirus pandemic.
Her emotional posts has been shared and commented thousands of time online. Her face was marked by bruises after wearing protective masks for 13 hours a day.
In the post on Facebook, she wrote: “I haven’t seen my family for nearly a month and she is putting her life online to save the lives of others.”
Aimee pledged to continue fighting this novel coronavirus. She depicts the visual representation of ‘going through hell.’
She said that she holds the hands of dying patients and ensures them that if they are not alone in their final moments. Aimee wrote: “This is the face of someone who will carry on no matter what.”
“Here is the face of someone who wants lockdown to end. This is the face that is begging you, to NOT go out this Easter weekend,” she added.
She concluded her post with a message. The message read:” This is the face of an ICU nurse that is begging you: to stay inside, protect us, protect the NHS and help us save lives.”
Coronavirus has infected 1,622,492 people around the world and 97,198 have died. UK has 65,077 confirmed cases of deadly coronavirus and the death toll reached 7,978.
