31-years-old Jade Rowlands, from Caerphilly in Wales, has been diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder after spending years asking for help. Jade was considered ‘too pretty for help’.
Ms. Rowland revealed that during her last appointment at Aneurin Bevan University Health Board, she was asked not to come again for treatment because she is ‘too pretty’.
Jade attended each session with her partner who waited outside for her. Jade Rowlands said that when she went for her appointment they denied because they didn’t feel ‘I needed to see doctors because of my appearance’.
Ms. Rowland was well presented. She seemed completely fine because of her hair, nails, and makeup. NHS workers told her that she was too pretty and she has no need to see any doctor.
She was in depression and after completing her one course she was offered a separate course of ten appointments. After suffering from two seizures, she went to a private doctor and paid for her appointment in October.
Ms. Rowland was on medication and had received counselling because of depression. She also made a support group for those who are suffering from mental illness named ‘Muddled Mind’.
Aneurin Bevan University Health Board representative said that they asked Ms Rowland to contact them so that they are able to solve her matter.
