A 45-year-old Chinese woman, surnamed Zeng, was imprisoned for assembling about 100 people to oppose the bad administration and overpriced stock. Zeng who is also known as Brother Zeng was accused of starting disputes and stirring trouble.
Earlier, she was detained for leading two protests on March 12 and 25 at the sea mountain residential complex Yingcheng.
During the lockdown in Hubei, local government agencies supplied the food to tens of millions of people. But people in Hubei accused the government of supplying the food at higher prices than normal.
The protests were started after a man was arrested for supplying the same food as the government but at lower prices.
Initially, Zeng was not identified in protest but later the government described her as a troublemaker. She has many charges against her since the last year. She had been charged with seven crimes including hindering construction projects and obstructing social order.
But many people considered that the charges against Zeng are false. People believed that the government of Yingcheng is making excuses to arrest her and wanted to stop the protest.
