Carrie Symonds, fiancee of UK PM Boris Johnson, gave birth to a baby boy on Wednesday, April 29, 2020, at an NHS hospital.
The couple announced the news of pregnancy back in February 2020 days after Boris divorced Marina Wheeler. Baby boy is the first child of 32-year-old Carrie and sixth child of 55-year old Boris Johson.
Carrie previously announced that she contracted coronavirus but the baby boy is healthy and safe. The couple’s representative revealed that Boris was with her side throughout the labor before their son entered safely in the world.
Representative said: “PM and Ms. Carrie Symonds would like to thank the NHS maternity team.” Boris Johnson earlier announced that he will take his two-week paternity leave after the birth of their child. But it is not confirmed yet that he will take an off or not because of the emergency in the country.
British political figures congratulate the couple on the safe arrival of their child.
Carrie Symonds had a prominent career in politic as she worked in the Boris Campaign and helped him getting re-elected as mayor of London in 2012. The couple revealed in February 2020 that they were engaged to be married.
