American comedian Frances Lee Strong, best known by her stage name Grandma Lee, has passed away at the age of 85. Her son confirmed the news of her death.
She has died at her assisted living facility in Jacksonville, Florida on Friday. In November she broke her hip and never fully recovered from the injury. She fell down in her hotel room after a show in Tampa, Florida.
Grandma Lee was America’s Got Talent favorite grandma. She was very funny and always brought smiles on the face of others.
Her sons revealed that she spent her last days reading textbooks and Facebook posts from a friend. Her two sons were with her when she died.
Grandma Lee’s performance was excellent in America’s Got Talent and she made it to the finale before being eliminated.
Once she talked about her approach to comedy. She said: “I go up there and wing it but I had to clean it up for the show.”
Her husband died of cancer at the age of 37 in May 1995. But she bears the pain with courage and lived with her four children.
