Great-grandmother, 106, has become Britain’s oldest woman to defeat novel coronavirus. Grandmother Connie Titchen was first admitted to Birmingham City Hospital in the mid-march.
Grandmother Connie has survived two World Wars and now she bravely defeated the contagious coronavirus in just three weeks.
According to her past medical history, she had experienced a hip operation last December. She was admitted to the hospital with pneumonia symptoms. She was diagnosed with the novel coronavirus later. Connie has been granted the all-clear from doctors at City Hospital Birmingham.
Great-grandmother said she is lucky to defeat the novel coronavirus. She said: “I can’t wait to see my family.”
Her granddaughter Alex Jones said that the secret of her old age is that she is physically active and independant. She always cooked for herself and has had very active life.
Sandwell and West Birmingham NHS tweeted: “We’d like to give our own round of applause to Connie who at 106 is heading home from City Hospital having successfully beaten Coronavirus. She is our oldest patient to beat the virus and may well be the oldest in the country to do so.”
There have been 98,476 confirmed coronavirus cases in the UK and the death toll reached 12,868.
